Who We Are

Animal Welfare and Sterilization in Goa

We Are Alpha Angel's

Founded by two sisters, Alpha Angels Animal Trust is Sejal’s and Shraddha’s way of making a change, one animal in need at a time. Witnessing the sheer amount of injured, abused, homeless, and malnourished cats and dogs in Goa, Sejal and Shraddha decided not to succumb to the feeling of helplessness but instead, choose to act. The result: Alpha Angels Animal Trust - Animal Welfare and Sterilization in Goa, was born and, with it, the dedication to live life for those who do not have a voice.

Alpha Angel’s vision is to redefine the meaning of animal welfare.

We strive towards a more humane way of helping animals that puts their well-being first, and not our convenience.

Alpha Angel's Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple: Animals first! We believe in helping animals the way it is best for them. This means that we try to be as empathetic as possible, and see the scenario from the animal’s point of view before we decide what kind of action to take. Our animal-first-approach also comes into play when we trap stray animals for neutering. Instead of creating unnecessary tension, we use trap cages - for example, that are prepared with irresistible food (such as fresh meat or fish) - and patiently wait until the animal enters the cage in its own time, and on its own terms. All further steps are taken with a calm, cool, presence of mind, and without shouting, aggression, or avoidable stress.

At Alpha Angels, we understand that the success and impact of our work also involves with humans. Only if we as a community learn to grow together, raise our awareness, educate ourselves, and start acting with compassion and love when we see that someone (animal, human, tree) is in need, we can create the change we all so desperately want to see in this world.

This idea is, therefore, also represented in our logo: animals and humans peacefully coexisting in the same natural environment, with equal respect for each other and nature itself, connected through a single thread that keeps life, and thus all of us, in harmonious balance.

Meet The Alpha Angels

Shraddha and Sejal moved from Bombay to Goa in 2017. By founding Alpha Angels Animal Trust together, the journey of the two sisters has merged again, in a home away from home.

“Animals are the purest form of love, and when I see them abused or suffering, I am unable to look away anymore.”

Trained as a clinical nutritionist, with over 15 years of experience in naturotherapy, Sejal has dedicated a big part of her life to animal welfare. Her journey began on the night of her birthday in 2018, when a little black puppy wet, dirty, and clearly in need of a home knocked on her front door, asking to be let in. Trusting the signs, ‘Moon’ became a part of the family, and changed Sejal’s life forever. It was Moon’s love, joy, and kindness that unlocked Sejal’s love for all kinds of animals, and led the way to her work with Alpha Angels today.

“My first encounter with Saburi was the beginning of a journey to unconditional love. And with one animal at a time, more angels came into our lives, making us realise that the only way to live is to love.”

As an experienced teacher of Yog, Shraddha’s motivation to give back is deeply embedded in her practice on and off the yoga mat. With a deep love for animals, and a strong connect with nature since she was a young girl, Shraddha promised herself that, one day, she will open a hospital for animals so that old or sick ones didn’t have to be put to sleep. It was her first , Saburi, that opened her connection to the feline. Fast forward to today: she not only runs a successful Yoga Shala in Goa but has also fulfilled her dream with Alpha Angels , and flourishes in her daily work with animals who need her love and care the most.
